Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi Demands Uhuru Kenyatta Sack Fred Matiang'i Over Ruaraka Land Scandal ¶

President Uhuru Kenyatta has been urged to sack Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i over his alleged involvement in the Ruaraka land scandal.
Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi made the call during the launch of Kesses constituency development plan on Friday, July 27.
According to Sudi, Matiang'i presided over the purchase of Ruaraka public land during his tenure as Education Cabinet Secretary.
The government had agreed to purchase the over 13-acre piece of land at KSh 3.2 billion from developer Francis Mburu, despite it legally being public property.
However, the payment of KSh 1.5 billion as down payment for the parcel where two public schools stand was later found to be irregular by a High Court.
The three-judge bench faulted the National Land Commission for misleading the Ministry of Education in the matter leading to the payment of the sum to the businessman.
"The problem in this Kenya is corruption. If you see how things are unfolding in this country, you will realise some game is being played. I have been following and even asking about Ruaraka land in Parliament up to date. It was in black and white, Matiang'i knew something about it yet he still roams around. We are not fools. He should be sacked and charged," Sudi said.
