Ken Okoth, the Kibra MP, left a lasting legacy in the hearts of Kenyans after his untimely passing on July 26, 2019.
Diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2017, Okoth bravely fought the disease, even attending the Kibra Music Festival early this month to express his gratitude to those who stood by him.
On his final day, Okoth was placed on a life support machine at a Nairobi hospital, but he requested to be removed from it, leaving his family with no choice but to comply.
His last words, 'Let me go, good bye, I love you,' will forever be etched in the memories of those who knew him.
Okoth publicly announced his battle with cancer on social media in February this year, sharing his struggles with chemotherapy and its effects on his skin and immunity system.
As the nation mourns the loss of a great leader, President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have sent their condolences to Okoth's family and constituents.
