Ken Okoth, the late Kibra Member of Parliament, left an indelible mark on Kenyans with his unwavering courage and hope in the face of cancer.

Diagnosed at an advanced stage in February 2019, Okoth's condition was manageable, but the effects of treatment took a toll on his health.

Despite his deteriorating health, Okoth continued to share words of encouragement with a smile on his face, inspiring many with his resilience.

On March 2019, he shared a picture of himself undergoing treatment abroad on social media, responding to a concerned Kenyan who had asked for an update on his treatment.

Okoth's response, 'Napambana na hali yangu kabisa. Chemo drugs brutal on the skin and immunity system,' reflected his determination to fight the disease.

His battle with cancer was also documented by Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris, who shared pictures of the two of them with Okoth's wife Monica at the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Tragically, Okoth lost his fight to cancer on Friday afternoon, July 26, 2019, at Nairobi Hospital, where he had been rushed to by family members after his condition worsened.
