Ken Okoth, the Kibra Member of Parliament, has left a lasting legacy in his fight against cancer. The 41-year-old MP died on Friday at Nairobi Hospital, where he had been undergoing treatment.

Okoth had been battling stage four colorectal cancer, which he had been managing with chemotherapy tablets since his diagnosis in early 2019. He had been open about his condition, sharing his experiences on social media and in interviews.

"Napambana na hali yangu kabisa. Chemo drugs are brutal on the skin and immunity system," he tweeted in March, highlighting the challenges he faced in his treatment.

Okoth had been receiving treatment in France for over five months before returning to Kenya at the beginning of July. His family announced his passing in a press briefing, revealing that he had been in critical condition and had been put on life support at the Intensive Care Unit of Nairobi Hospital.

Okoth's death comes just weeks after he returned to Kenya, and his family and constituents are mourning the loss of a dedicated public servant and cancer warrior.
