Ken Okoth, the 41-year-old MP for Kibra constituency, died on July 27, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. His death was announced by his brother, Imram Okoth, who said that the body would not be viewed by the public on Saturday, July 27, or Sunday, July 28, except by family members.

However, hundreds of mourners, including friends and residents of Kibra constituency, flocked to Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi, demanding to see the body of the late MP. The scene was chaotic, with police officers and security guards trying to control the crowd.

"We are making arrangements for the funeral. We want people to know that the body will not be viewed at Lee Funeral Home except by family members," Imram Okoth said.

Ken Okoth had been undergoing treatment in Paris, France, for nearly five months before returning to Kenya. He was rushed to Nairobi Hospital on Thursday, July 25, after falling ill, but was later transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the hospital.

According to reports, the family had asked doctors to remove the life-support machines, a request that was granted before Okoth's death.
