Ken Okoth, the Kibra Member of Parliament, has died at the age of 41 after a long battle with colon cancer.
Okoth was admitted to The Nairobi Hospital on Thursday, where he was placed on life support machines due to a deterioration in his condition.
His brother, Imran Okoth, confirmed the legislator's death on Friday.
Earlier this year, Okoth revealed that he had been diagnosed with advanced colorectal cancer and had traveled to Europe for treatment.
Despite undergoing treatment for five months, Okoth's condition continued to deteriorate, and he passed away on Friday.
Colorectal cancer, also known as bowel cancer and colon cancer, is a type of cancer that develops in the colon or rectum.
Its symptoms can vary depending on the size and location of the condition, but common symptoms include changes in bowel habits, changes in stool consistency, blood in the stool, and abdominal discomfort.
