Kenyan lawmaker Ken Okoth's family has revealed that he made a courageous decision to be removed from life-support machines before his passing on July 26, 2019.
Okoth, who had been battling Colorectal cancer, was rushed to Nairobi Hospital on July 25, 2019, where he was placed on life support after his condition deteriorated.
His brother, Imran Okoth, disclosed that the MP asked to be removed from the machines, contrary to the family's wishes.
"He asked to be removed from the life-support machine and as a family we had no option, we gave in to his demands," Imran said.
Okoth had been undergoing treatment for Colorectal cancer in France for close to five months before returning to Kenya two weeks ago.
He was receiving medical check-ups in Nairobi-based hospitals until his demise.
Okoth's body was moved to Lee Funeral Home.
