Published on July 26, 2019, Ken Okoth's passing has brought back memories of Bob Collymore's courageous battle with cancer.
Both men were diagnosed with cancer at a late stage, with Bob Collymore being misdiagnosed with Vitamin D Deficiency before being correctly diagnosed with stage four Acute Myeloid Leukemia while abroad.
Ken Okoth, on the other hand, was misdiagnosed with ulcers and bacterial infections for over a year, with symptoms including abdominal pain and weight loss.
Despite their efforts to seek treatment abroad, both men passed away in Kenya, surrounded by their loved ones.
As one fan noted, 'This year, this month, Kenya has lost two of the most brilliant minds in the political space, and corporate sphere respectively due to cancer.'
Adding, 'It's time we embraced the serious fight against this disease. Ken Okoth and Bob Collymore were the epitome of good leadership.'
Ken Okoth's wife stayed with him throughout his treatment, a testament to the love and support that both men received from their families.
As Ken Okoth himself confessed, 'I will be using chemotherapy tablets that I can take every morning. Because my disease was discovered at a very advanced stage. it cannot be cured. It can only be managed.'
