Ken Okoth, the Kibra MP, has been a shining example of courage and resilience in his fight against colorectal cancer. Despite being diagnosed at stage four, he has remained optimistic and has won the hearts of many with his determination.

Okoth's journey began a year ago, when he started experiencing symptoms of ulcers and bacterial infections. He was misdiagnosed and treated for stress, but in reality, he was battling abdominal pain and weight loss.

It was only after a year of suffering that Okoth was finally diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer with metastases to the liver. He was put on vigorous treatment, including combined radio and chemotherapy, to avert the risk of organ failure.

Considering his cancer was discovered at stage four, Okoth will have to take medication for life – a tablet each day. He has been using chemotherapy tablets that he can take every morning, and has been managing his condition with the help of his wife, who is from Europe.

Okoth's journey has not been easy, but he has remained optimistic and has been an inspiration to many. He has been open about his condition, sharing his story with the public and advocating for cancer care in Kenya to be made a national priority.
