Published on July 26, 2019, a court battle over the control of Bluebird Aviation has taken a dramatic turn after a falling out between tycoon Yusuf Adan and his advocate, Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdulahi.

Yusuf Adan, who is fighting for control of the company with his co-directors, had a heated altercation with Ahmednasir, accusing the lawyer of betrayal and unprofessional conduct.

According to sources, Adan was furious to discover that Ahmednasir had been secretly working with one of the directors of Bluebird Aviation, abandoning his client in the process.

“Ahmednasir took over Shs 50 million from him and then switched sides to the rival group,” said a source. “It is the height of betrayal.”

Yussuf Adan has been embroiled in a bitter fight over the control of the 27-year-old charter airline company, which he claims to own 25% of.

He filed a court petition in 2016 seeking to wind up Bluebird firm, alleging that the other three directors had excluded him from company affairs, misappropriated funds, and failed to hold shareholders meetings or pay him dividends.

Despite his claims, Adan has managed to acquire prime land and develop a portfolio of high-end properties in Nairobi, including Yala Towers on Koinange Street and Lenana Towers in Lenana Road.
