President Masisi expressed his appreciation for the exceptional hospitality received during the visit, which was at the invitation of Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"There is no official or minister of the Botswana government who did not comment commendably on the hospitality services and the quality in Kenya. They are good and sadly in private we are bemoaning our lack of quality service. So, please help us and help the hospitality industry to improve on what it does," he said.

During the visit, the two countries signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) on double taxation avoidance, bilateral air service, and ICT cooperation.

Transport and Communication Minister, Ms Dorcas Makgato, explained that the bilateral air service agreement would facilitate negotiations between Air Botswana and Kenya Airways, with Kenya Airways committed to starting services relatively soon.

Ms Makgato also highlighted the existing cooperation between Air Botswana and Kenya Airways in training and maintenance, citing the similarity in jet equipment.

Regarding the ICT agreement, she stated that it would provide Botswana with an opportunity to learn from Kenya's advanced sector.

Investment, Trade and Industry Minister, Ms Bogolo Kenewendo, addressed concerns over the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AFCTA), stating that her ministry was still going through internal processes to conclude outstanding issues.

Ms Kenewendo also announced that the ministry had started the process towards ratification of the Tripartite Free Trade Area (TFTA), with member states pledging to urgently work on its implementation.

President Masisi was accompanied by First Lady Neo Masisi and several ministers during the visit.
