On July 26, 2019, Arsenal stars Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac were targeted by armed bikers in a brazen carjacking attempt in London.
According to eyewitnesses, the Bosnian defender, Kolasinac, attempted to subdue one of the attackers before the two Premier League players and Ozil's wife, Amine, sped off in their G-Wagon.
They were pursued for over a mile by the armed thugs before Kolasinac left his car and sought refuge inside a nearby Turkish restaurant he frequents.
Waiters and chefs from the Likya restaurant rushed to the aid of the football stars, forcing the gang to flee the scene.
A witness described the scene, saying, "As soon as the restaurant started to come to the window and to the doorway, they turned around and roared off."
Arsenal confirmed the incident in a statement, assuring the public that both players were fine and had escaped from the ordeal uninjured.
The two Premier League stars were ambushed by the assailants on motorbikes in Platts Lane, near Golden Green.
