On July 26, 2019, Nairobi News reported that Jovial, a popular Mombasa songbird, had left Otile Brown's record label Just In Love Music just weeks after being gifted a brand new Mazda Demio.
The two artists had collaborated on two hit songs, Zichune and Amor, which had garnered over 700,000 views on YouTube.
According to sources, Jovial had grown uncomfortable with Otile's controlling behavior, leading to a misunderstanding that ultimately led to her departure from the label.
However, Jovial clarified that she and Otile were still on good terms, stating, "That's true I have left the label after a misunderstanding with Otile over some issues I felt weren't right. But we are still cool with each other," in an interview with Nairobi News.
