On July 26, 2019, South African retail chain Game Stores opened its new outlet in Kisumu, marking the beginning of its expansion plans in the region.

According to Game Africa Director Richard Fuller, the retailer aims to capitalize on the gap left by struggling local retailers such as Nakumatt and Uchumi.

Speaking to journalists after the opening of Game stores at Mega city Mall in Kisumu, Mr. Fuller stated that the supermarket chain plans to open new branches in Nakuru and Mombasa, in addition to the seven other locations in the near future.

Game Stores has identified an opportunity to fill the gap left by struggling local retailers, and it is now poised to take advantage of this opportunity.
