Kenya's national football team, Harambee Stars, has slid two places down to rank 107 in the latest FIFA Rankings, released by the World governing body on July 25, 2019.

The team's performance in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Finals in Egypt, where they exited in the group stage after losses to finalists Senegal and eventual winners Algeria, contributed to the drop.

However, Stars won 3-2 against Tanzania, who are ranked 137, in a match that fell just short of securing a place in the AFCON last 16 as one of the best four losers.

Algeria, the African champions, made the biggest leap in the July edition, rising 28 places to 40th and gaining 117 points, while fellow finalist Senegal reached their best-ever Ranking position.

Other teams that saw their continental performances rewarded with a Ranking rise include semi-finalists Nigeria, quarter-finalists Madagascar and Benin, and new South American champions Brazil, who leapfrogged France to second place.

Quarter-finalists Uruguay, Colombia, and Venezuela also improved their Ranking positions substantially, with Venezuela reaching their best-ever Ranking position.

Argentina, the bronze-medallists, completed a quartet of South American teams in the top ten.
