Published on July 25, 2019, Mathare United has announced the resignation of Francis Kimanzi as their head coach.
Assistant coach Salim Ali has taken over the reins, following Kimanzi's decision to step down and focus on his role as an assistant coach with the national team Harambee Stars.
Kimanzi has been working with Harambee Stars since May 31, when the team traveled to France for their pre-African Cup of Nations camp.
Before joining Harambee Stars, Kimanzi was in charge of the national Under 23 side.
The Harambee Stars are currently in camp at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, preparing for their African Nations Championship qualifier against Tanzania.
The first leg tie against Tanzania's Taifa Stars is scheduled for July 28 in Dar es Salaam, with the return leg set for August 2 at Kasarani.
