Everton's Ademola Lookman Completes Permanent Move to RB Leipzig

On July 25, 2019, Everton's Ademola Lookman finalized a permanent transfer to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old winger, who had impressed during a loan spell with Leipzig in the second half of the 2017-18 season, signed a five-year contract with the German side.

Initially, Everton received £16m for Lookman's transfer, with the potential for the fee to increase to £22.5m.

RB Leipzig's Sporting Director Markus Krosche expressed his satisfaction with the signing, stating, 'We're very pleased that we've finally signed Ademola Lookman. Ademola convinced us immensely during his time on loan here and will now quickly re-integrate and further enhance our attacking play with his dynamic ability.'

During his time at Everton, Lookman scored four goals in 48 appearances after joining from Charlton for £11m in January 2017.

However, he was unable to secure a regular starting place back at Goodison Park under Marco Silva, impressing with five goals in 11 appearances for Leipzig in 2018.

Lookman's departure from Everton could provide further funds for the club to pursue Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, with Everton reportedly joining Arsenal in the race to sign the Ivorian.
