On July 22, 2019, Jaydeep Rajesh Kumar, an employee of Ken Match East Africa Limited, reported to the police that he had been robbed of Ksh.10.5 million while driving along Forest Road in Nairobi.

However, an investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) revealed that Kumar had only collected and banked Ksh.3.25 million, contrary to his claim.

According to the DCI, 'Investigations commenced immediately upon receiving the report and it was established that the suspect only collected Ksh.3.25M (not Ksh.10.5M) which he banked. The other remaining amount was never collected from the customers as claimed. He’s in custody & will be charged tomorrow.'

As a result, Kumar was arrested on Wednesday and awaits arraignment on Thursday.
