The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced a 21-day partial closure of the Sarit Centre roundabout in Westlands, Nairobi, starting from an unspecified date and ending on August 12. The closure is aimed at improving the link from Waiyaki way to Limuru through Westlands.
Motorists using the roundabout will have to use alternative routes during the closure period. Vehicles headed towards The Oval/Sarit Centre on the left side from Waiyaki Way will navigate the roundabout on the deviation provided on the right-hand side of the roundabout, take a left turn at Lower Kabete Road, and proceed to Sarit Centre or The Oval.
Waiyaki Way-bound traffic on the left side of the Oval will stick to the left and navigate the roundabout on the left-hand side and through to Waiyaki Way. The deviation provided on the right of the roundabout will be sufficient for opposing traffic, although motorists are advised to take caution of opposite traffic from Waiyaki Way.
Outering Road, which connects Thika Road to the Airport North road at AllSops, was partially closed from Thursday, July 25, to July 28, to allow installation of a footbridge, the agency said.
Motorists are advised to use alternative routes during the closure period. The agency has assured that the deviation provided on the right of the roundabout will be sufficient for opposing traffic.
