Published on July 25, 2019, a survey by Infotrak revealed that 60% of Kenyans support the demonetization of old Sh1000 notes.

According to the report, 63% of respondents interviewed also supported the October 31 deadline for phasing out the old notes in favor of new ones unveiled on June 1.

However, some Kenyans expressed concerns about the roll out of the new currency, citing liquidity concerns and the design of the new notes, which they found unimpressive.
