On July 25, 2019, Mathare United announced the appointment of Salim Ali as their new head coach for the upcoming season.
Ali, a seasoned coach with experience at Sofapaka and Ulinzi Stars, takes over from Francis Kimanzi, who resigned to concentrate on his duties as assistant coach at Harambee Stars under Sebastien Migne.
