Manchester United Blocks Arsenal's Hopes of Completing Wilfried Zaha Deal ¶
Unai Emery's Arsenal have identified Wilfried Zaha as a top target this summer, but their efforts to sign the Ivorian winger are being hindered by Manchester United's sell-on clause.
According to a report by Mail Online, Arsenal have had two bids rejected by Crystal Palace, who are valuing Zaha at £80m. The Gunners had previously offered a £40m approach, which was instantly dismissed.
The clause, which was included by Manchester United when Zaha joined Crystal Palace four years ago, would entitle the Manchester outfit to around £16m if Palace were to sell Zaha to Arsenal for the asking price.
With Unai Emery working on a tight budget this summer, it looks unlikely that Arsenal would be able to sign Zaha through a straight cash deal.
Wilfried Zaha has informed Crystal Palace of his desire to leave the club this summer, with a keen eye on a move to the Emirates. However, Palace are sticking to their £80m valuation, making it difficult for Arsenal to complete the deal.
