Kenya Airways has announced an expansion of its flight network, with increased frequencies to key destinations in East Africa. The move aims to meet the rising demand during the peak travel season, with the airline's Chief Commercial Officer Ursula Silling stating that the additional flights will be operational from July to August 2019.

According to Silling, Mombasa will see an increase of two flights to 12 daily, while Kilimanjaro will enjoy an additional flight, bringing the total to two daily. The Juba, Zanzibar, and Kigali routes will each receive an additional flight, with four flights to Juba (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday), flights to Zanzibar operating on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and daily flights to Kigali.

‘The additional frequencies will ensure we serve our customers better, more efficiently, and in a timely manner. This will also play an important role in growing our business in addition to supporting the tourism industry,’ Silling said.

The increased frequencies are part of Kenya Airways’ network expansion strategy, which is essential to the airline’s ongoing financial turnaround. This move follows the airline’s recent launch of flights to Rome and Geneva.
