On Wednesday evening, a family in Umoja Innercore suffered a devastating loss when their one and a half year-old boy fell to his death while playing on the balcony. The incident occurred on July 24, 2019.
The boy's father, Oliwa Tobias, was on his way home from work when he received the tragic news. He had just alighted from a matatu when his other son rushed to inform him of the accident.
"My son came running to me and told me to rush to the hospital," Oliwa recalled, visibly shaken.
Despite the family's efforts to save him, the toddler was rushed to Phadam Medicare Hospital but unfortunately, it was too late. A physician at the hospital confirmed that the boy was brought in by his mother but was not breathing.
Police took the body to the City Mortuary, where it was received by authorities.
