Murimi wa Kahalf, known for his song Ino ni Momo, was married to three women and had two daughters at the time of his death.
His first wife, Josephine, a comedian, had a daughter named Grace Wambui with him. After Josephine's passing, Murimi married his second wife, Nancy, and they had a daughter named Rita Wanjiku.
At the time of his death, Murimi was living with his third wife, Zaweria, with whom he had no children.
Murimi had made arrangements for the care of his daughters before his death. According to his friend Ndathi,
"As I stand here to mourn and praise my good friend Murimi, I must reveal to you what he requested me to do in the event of his death. He asked me to take care of his two daughters and ensure they finished school. I hereby promise before you that I will fulfill his wishes,
Ndathi said during the burial.
