Auditor General Edward Ouko has sued President Uhuru Kenyatta and the National Assembly, including Speaker Justin Muturi and Clerk Justin Bundi, in a bid to block his exit from office.
Ouko, who is facing dismissal from his position, alleges that he was not given sufficient time to defend himself and that his dismissal lacks clear explanations for the accusations against him.
According to Nation, Ouko's lawyer, Otiende Amollo, stated that his client's rights have been severely violated.
"Given the malicious nature, the unprecedented fast-tracking and the unfair manner that the process was undertaken, he is apprehensive that the process will irreparably violate his fundamental rights and freedoms. It therefore in the interests of justice that this matter be certified extremely urgent,"
Background ¶
Ouko has been under fire since February over allegations of misusing public funds for personal use, including a claim that he spent up to KSh 1 million on a personal call through his iPad. Additionally, he has been accused of irregularly authorizing an audit software worth KSh 100 million.

The case is currently being heard in Parliament. Ouko seeks to block Muturi from making damaging recommendations to the President regarding his dismissal.
