Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko marked his 41st birthday with a private celebration at his Mua Family Farm in Machakos County. He was joined by his family and friends, including President Uhuru Kenyatta’s son Jomo, who Sonko referred to as his potential running mate for 2032.

Sonko honored his late father by placing several bottles of expensive whiskey on his grave. In a social media post, Sonko expressed gratitude for his life and acknowledged the role his late father played in his success.

He shared a personal anecdote about forging his birth certificate to obtain an ID during his school days. Sonko’s father had forgiven him for the mistake, and the senator reflected on how his father’s guidance helped shape his life.

Sonko also shared photos from the celebration, which included images of himself, his wife Lady Primrose, and their guests.

The mistake of yesterday will not determine the success of tomorrow. A day like this my Dad used to celebrate my birthday with me by taking a bottle of Johny Walker which was his favourite whisky, since he had left his stock in the cabinet I decided to celebrate it with him. Some good things are happening in our life as a family and we look up the heaven and smile, I know its you Dad. Thank you for you for the good counsel. rest in peace Dad, I miss you dearly. – Sonko
