Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko shared on his Facebook account how he fathered his first-born daughter, Saumu Mbuvi, while he was in Form Four.
Sonko wrote,
"As we are approaching Valentine's Day, it's good to be proud of our own blood, especially the ones we love. She's my first born, I sired her when I was in Form 4, when I was the most notorious student in Kenya. She’s currently the Vice President at JKUAT Karen."
Sonko also shared a link to an interview Saumu had with Ebru TV's 'News in Focus' programme, where she discussed coping with life as a politician's daughter.
Saumu, who is the Vice President of the students union at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Karen campus, expressed her interest in politics during the interview. She stated that her decision to run for a post in the students union was not influenced by her father.
