Former Deputy Inspector General Grace Kaindi was forcibly removed from her office at Vigilance House after refusing to vacate the premises.

A confrontation occurred on Thursday when Kaindi declined to hand over her position to newly appointed Deputy Inspector General Joel Kitili.

Francis Kinyua, Head of Civil Services, attempted to persuade Kaindi to relinquish her position peacefully during a visit to Vigilance House. However, she insisted on receiving a formal dismissal letter from the President before stepping down.

Late in the evening, Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet and Kitili visited Kaindi's office in an effort to expedite the transition, but their attempts were unsuccessful.

Despite initial resistance, Kaindi was eventually ejected from her office by several police officers at midnight. She was subsequently barred from entering Vigilance House.
