Rosemary Odinga, the daughter of CORD leader Raila Odinga, remains admitted at the Aga Khan hospital due to a non-cancerous brain tumour that is exerting pressure on her brain, causing persistent headaches.
According to TUKO.co.ke, Rosemary was diagnosed with the brain tumour and is being treated by Neurosurgeon David Livingstone Oluoch-Olunya, who is also the Odinga family's doctor and a part-time consultant at the Aga Khan Hospital.
Background ¶
This is not the first time the Odinga family has dealt with a similar health issue. In June 2010, Raila Odinga suffered from similar headaches and underwent an operation at the Nairobi Hospital to relieve a build-up of pressure in his head.
The procedure, which involved removing fluids through a small opening in his skull, was carried out by the same doctor treating Rosemary, Dr. David Livingstone Oluoch-Olunya.
Current Status ¶
Rosemary is yet to undergo an operation to remove the brain tumour and is still receiving treatment at the Aga Khan hospital, where she was transferred from Nairobi hospital.
The Odinga family has chosen not to comment publicly on Rosemary's health status.
