Kenyan Ministry of Interior Loses Powers in Reshuffle

According to the original account, Joseph Nkainsery's ministry has been stripped of certain powers by Uhuru Kenyatta. The Ministry of Interior and Coordination has lost crucial powers to the Office of the President in a new reshuffle aimed at countering terrorism in Kenya.

The National Security Council and the National Security Advisory Committee, which are responsible for making key decisions on security matters, will now be under President Kenyatta.

Following the reorganization, the Interior Ministry will now be in control of the Police, National Police Service Commission, Nacada, Kenya Citizens and Foreign Service, IPOA, and the Betting Control and Licensing Board.

Other departments that have shifted to the Head of State's office include the office of the Deputy President, Vision 2030, Directorate of National Cohesion and Values, Inspectorate of State Corporations, the President's Delivery Unit, State Corporations Advisory Committee, Power of Mercy Committee, Kenya International Boundaries Office, and Northern Corridor Integration Projects Office.
