Raila Odinga, the CORD leader, is set to travel to the Kingdom of Lesotho as the head of the African Union Election Observers Mission for the country's elections scheduled on February 28.
According to the request made in January by the Commission of the African Union, Mr. Odinga will lead the observer mission in accordance with the Durban Declaration of July 2002, which outlines the principles governing democratic elections in Africa.
The observer mission consists of 40 trained African Union observers from various institutions, including the Permanent Representative Committee, Pan-African Parliament, Election Management Bodies, Human Rights Institutions, and Civil Society Organizations, representing different African countries.
