According to the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams results released on March 3, 2016, several leading girls' schools experienced a sharp decline in their mean grades. These schools had previously competed favourably with top boys' schools such as Alliance High School, Maseno, Mang'u, Starehe, Nairobi School, and Maranda.
