On August 27, 2018, a heinous crime shook Mwachabo village in Wundanyi, Taita Taveta County. A 36-year-old man, Abdhalla Maghanga, was sentenced to life in prison for defiling his 9-year-old daughter.
Abdhalla Maghanga was found guilty of committing the act, despite his initial denial of the charges. He even went on to accuse his wife and stepmother of framing him, but the prosecution proved the case beyond reasonable doubt.
Appearing before Wundanyi Senior Resident Magistrate David Ndungi, Magistrate Ndungi delivered the sentencing, stating that the prosecution had presented sufficient evidence to prove the case.
Mr. Maghanga now has 14 days to appeal the ruling, but for now, he will serve a life sentence for his crimes.
