A pastor associated with Dr. David Owuor's church is in critical condition at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) following a suicide attempt.
According to reports, Pastor Fred Otieng attempted to take his own life at Dr. Owuor's home in Mugwe Court, Gigiri Division. Before the attempt, he wrote a note citing frustrations and then tried to burn himself using cooking gas.
Neighbors intervened after seeing smoke coming from the house, and Pastor Otieng was initially taken to MP Shah Hospital before being transferred to KNH. This incident occurred at approximately 11 am.
Gigiri OCPD Vitalis Otieno stated that neighbors rescued Pastor Otieng. Additionally, the pastor had sent SMS messages to friends and Dr. Owuor, who is currently in Kisumu preparing for an end-of-year prayer rally.
