A Rongai matatu was burned beyond recognition on February 4, after it allegedly killed a child in Lang'ata.

The matatu, known as '007', was set ablaze by angry residents on Lang'ata road, near Deliverance Church, bringing traffic to a temporary standstill.

According to reports, the matatu lost control and knocked down a child who was riding a bike opposite Uhuru Gardens. Boda boda riders, angered by the incident, took matters into their own hands and set the matatu on fire.

This incident occurred barely four months after an accident along the same route resulted in the deaths of four people, including students from the Multimedia University of Kenya.

Nairobi police boss Koome confirmed the incident and stated that they would investigate to establish what exactly transpired.

The recovered account cited reporting by Tuko.
