The Global Citizen Festival was also graced by US Vice President Joe Biden and First Lady Michelle Obama, who were among guest speakers invited to the concert held to raise awareness of the UN's global goals program, which aims to eradicate global poverty, fight injustice, and combat climate change, among other things.
Grammy award singer Beyonce gave an energetic performance as she belted out a mix of hits, such as Single Ladies and Miss Independent.
