A hug from President Barack Obama may have changed the life of an 8-year-old Kenyan girl.
Joan Wamaitha, an orphan at Mama Ngina Children’s Home, was the first to welcome the U.S. president. She presented him with a bouquet of flowers.
During his visit, President Obama spent a few moments talking to Wamaitha and guided her while taking a photo together.
Wamaitha is a Standard One pupil at Mariakani Primary School in Nairobi's South B area.
