Bahati recently shared that Denno, a blind artist, is facing financial difficulties despite the success of his song Mbona with Daddy Owen, which earned millions of shillings.
Bahati made the revelation while releasing their new collaboration, Story Yangu, and asked Kenyans to donate money to help Denno start a small business. However, some people blamed Daddy Owen for Denno's situation.
Rufftone, Daddy Owen's brother, defended him, stating that Denno misused his wealth. Rufftone claimed that Daddy Owen had started a business for Denno and given him Sh. 1 million.
According to Rufftone, "Bwana Asifiwe. I have seen that Bahati's article on Deno and I think it is sad. Personally I know many could be pointing fingers at Daddy Owen secretly in their hearts but I am a witness to Daddy Owen starting a business for Denno. You all remember Daddy Owen giving Denno one million shillings. So many things could have happened but I think new financial systems and investment programmes should be introduced for artists’ empowerment"
