A fire at Mukuru Kayaba slum on Tuesday night damaged high-voltage power lines, cutting off electricity supply to parts of Kibera.
The fire, which was attributed to human activities and settlements on electricity way leaves in the area, disabled substations in Industrial Area and Nairobi West, according to Kenya Power system operations manager David Mutitu.
