The late Governor Nderitu Gachagua was laid to rest at his Hiriga home, Nyeri County, with several high-profile attendees, including President Uhuru Kenyatta and Cord leader Raila Odinga.
Retired President Mwai Kibaki also attended the burial, alongside numerous governors from across the country.
Notably, while some governors arrived in convoys of luxury SUVs, others opted to travel by helicopter, with at least 18 choppers parked at the Hiriga Primary School grounds.
President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived at the funeral in a Kenya Air Force chopper, accompanied by his wife Margaret Kenyatta.
