A youth group from Dandora has launched a project to beautify and conserve the Nairobi River, aiming to restore its former state.

The group, known as Community Reserved Brothers, began by planting trees along a section of the river that runs through Dandora.

According to Shakesphere Anyango, a member of the group who spoke to Ghetto Radio, the initiative seeks to transform the public's perception of Dandora from a dumping ground to a tourist destination.

Anyango appealed for government support to fund the project, which was initially started by the late Environment Minister John Michuki.
