The Council of Governors (CoG) was established under Section 19 of the Intergovernmental Relations Act 2012.
According to the Act, the CoG has several key functions, including providing a mechanism for consultation amongst County Governments, sharing information on the performance of counties in executing their functions, facilitating capacity building for governors, and considering reports from other intergovernmental forums on national and county interests, as outlined in Section 20.
