Published on July 24, 2019, a shocking incident unfolded at Makueni Girls High School in Kenya, where three 15-year-old students were suspended for allegedly planning to poison their classmate.
The students, all in Form 2, had conspired to lace their classmate's lunch meal with chemicals stolen from the school laboratory, according to school deputy principal Dorcas Nzioka.
The plot was foiled when the executor refused to carry out the plan, leading to a quarrel among the girls, as revealed by Makueni Sub-county police commander Timothy Maina.
The motive behind the sinister plan was a dispute over a boyfriend, who attends the neighboring Makueni Boys High School.
One of the girls eventually revealed the plot to a school prefect, who escalated the matter to the school administration.
The school deputy principal reported the incident to the police, who arrested the girls for questioning but referred the matter back to the school for alternative dispute resolution.
