Grief is a difficult transition, and the Mbuvi family is undergoing this trying time after losing a loved one. The family recently laid to rest Gideon Mbuvi, father to Senator Mike Sonko and grandfather to his children.
Sentator Mike Sonko gave his father a respectable sendoff, which included a diamond and gold encrusted coffin. The Mbuvi family has been comforting each other during this period of loss.
In his farewell message to his father, Senator Mike Sonko wrote on social media:
Dad we loved and cherished you, we wish you would’ve lived forever, but the day comes when we must say goodbye and that day will forever reside in our minds. May your soul rest in everlasting peace. Till we meet again Dad. Fare thee well.
Salma Mbuvi, the senator's daughter, also shared a photo reminiscing about her last moments with her grandfather at the hospital. She said:
‘I’ll forever miss you granpa, RIP’
