Lupita Nyong'o has become the first Kenyan to reach 1 million Instagram followers, achieving another milestone after winning an Oscar.
She is also the most followed Kenyan on the photo-sharing site, with few others having more than 100,000 followers. Notable figures such as Larry Madowo, Vera Sidika, Octopizzo, Citizen TV, Lupita's brother, and Victoria Kimani have significantly fewer followers, with 2,200, 15,000, 3,000, 1,000, 15,000, and 17,000 followers, respectively.
Most of Lupita's audience is based in America, with relatively few Kenyans using the Facebook-owned platform.
Upon reaching this milestone, Lupita expressed her gratitude to her fans with a thank you message.
