On July 24, 2019, Heritage Insurance launched Auto Correct, a revolutionary motor insurance technology in Kenya.

Auto Correct uses telematics to capture and process driving data, enabling the calculation of car insurance policy value. The technology employs a device often referred to as a 'black box' to collect and transmit driving behavior data, including acceleration, braking, and cornering.

Heritage Insurance stated that all private motor vehicle owners are eligible for Auto Correct. The insurer also revealed that drivers may receive up to 15% cash back on annual paid premiums if they drive safely, as well as accumulate loyalty points redeemable at selected service providers.

Auto Correct comes with a smartphone app that provides driving feedback, weekly, monthly, and annual scores, as well as loyalty point accumulation and management. The app also offers information on redeeming loyalty points.

Heritage Insurance Managing Director Godfrey Kioi emphasized the customer-centric approach behind Auto Correct, saying, 'Telematics is not limited to the pricing of motor insurance or driver behavior. Our philosophy is cementing customer-centrism in the industry by engaging the customer and generating rewarding and memorable experiences.'

Heritage Insurance has also introduced an Insurance Premium Financing (IPF) payment solution, available on mobile phones, in line with the recent Insurance (Amendment) Act 2019. This service aims to reduce the perennial premium collection problem in the insurance industry.
