A shooting incident occurred in Nairobi’s Ruai area, resulting in the death of a conductor. According to eyewitnesses, police arrived at a bus stop along Kangundo Road and began shooting in the air before targeting the conductor.

Witnesses describe the scene, stating that after the initial shot to the head, the police continued to shoot the conductor's body multiple times as he lay under a bridge.

The incident allegedly stems from a reported harassment of passengers the previous day, involving a different conductor from Forward Traveler Bus. An eyewitness claims the deceased conductor, Simo, was not involved in the harassment incident, which resulted in a passenger receiving 19 stitches.

As recounted by an eyewitness:

Simo was innocent, he was not involved in any incident yesterday. What happened is that a Forward Traveler Bus Conductor was involved in the harassment of passengers yesterday. I am told the conductor hit a passenger on the head and the passenger was stitched with 19 stitches at the hospital.

Following the shooting, the police took the conductor's body, prompting a demonstration by matatu conductors in the area.
