Jackline Mwende, who gained widespread attention after her husband allegedly severed her limbs due to her inability to bear children, has been given a new house and supermarket.
According to reports, Stephen Ngila attacked his wife on July 18, 2016, after seven years of marriage without conceiving a child.
Mwende underwent treatment and was fitted with myoelectric prosthetics in South Korea on September 26, 2016.
Recently, Taita-Taveta Women Representative Joyce Lay, Nominated MP Sanjeev K. Birdi, also known as Sonia Birdi, and representatives from the German organization 'Merck More Than a Mother' presented Mwende with a new house and supermarket in her home village in Masii, Machakos County.
The supermarket, named 'Zawadi mini supermarket', officially opened on Sunday. The four-room house, equipped with solar power and a water tank, was constructed on her father's farm by the German organization.
