County Workers Face Salary Delays Due to Late Cash Release

Salaries for public servants across all 47 counties are expected to be delayed. According to the Council of Governors, this is because the National Treasury has not released the anticipated Sh30 billion, which was due in January.

Isaac Ruto, the chair of the Council of Governors, expressed his concerns about the delay in a letter to Henry Rotich, the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury. Ruto stated that the late release of funds would lead to staff discontent towards county governments.
